The whole class did some problem solving using our skip counting in tens knowledge to work out how many tens there were in 136. Not everyone got the right answer but most students were trying to use different strategies to try to work it out. They are also getting better at explaining how they worked the answer out.
One of the maths groups was introduced to multiplication and the two timetables and were happy to discover that because they know how to skip count in twos they actually know their two times tables.
Another group were getting really quick at ways to make ten. It was great to see them having fun with maths and enjoying the challenge.
We are all really looking forward to our trip next Wednesday 25 November. Remember students need a packed lunch, water bottle, hat, sunscreen and a change of clothes in case they get wet.

WOW another busy week in Room 16. Isn't it great to work together to solve problems. It sounds like you have done a lot of learning and thinking.
