Wow!  What a fun day Room 16 had today.

We started the day with everyone dressed in black.  This was to support the Black Caps for their game on Sunday against Australia.  Check out the photos, we are truly a handsome and gorgeous group of people.

We also had a Rainbow team presentation of what the Arts groups have been working on, in Friday Arts Rotation.  There was singing, dancing, visual art presentations and drama.  We also had a school photo to send to the Black Caps and a enjoyable school assembly.

Lots of the class have been taking out some cricket bats and balls at lunchtime and having lots of fun having a hit around.  Definitely some Black Caps in the making.

Week 8

Tomorrow we will be starting week 8 of term 1.  I will be finishing reading testing with Room 16 students. Please keep reading with your child everyday.  In maths we will be having a basic facts focus including:

• addition to 5 and 10
• Subtracting 0, 1 up to 10 from 10
• addition  and subtraction using doubles knowledge.
• adding and subtracting missing numbers to 10.

I will be testing students next week so any practice you can do at home with your child would be helpful.  A reminder that we have a school assembly on Friday at 12pm, join us if you can make it.

Visit in the Life Education van - We are all unique!!!!

Today we went into the Life Education van.  We learnt about thinking and caring for others.  Secondly, we learnt that we are all unique, which means that there is nobody the same as me.

Here is our wall of empathy.  We talked about things we can do to care for each other.

Sports morning - St Francis School

Wednesday 11 March
The Rainbow team walked to St Francis school this morning for some fun sports activities.Room 16 had a great time.  We were involved in all sorts of different activities such as jumping in a sack, skipping, hula hooping, running, hopping, throwing, catching  and kicking.  I loved all the smiles and laughing.  We rocked!!!!!
